I have read a lot on their views of transfusions and what they can do.There were other procedures they could have used! Just another case of medical incompetence and peope ignorance! Their are some good posts under "Blood and Medical treatment.". I know they can channel the blood back in the body if it doesn't leave the tube! But they can't store it. They ls could hav echecked her blod for clotting before the operation and given her vitamin K. My Dad was on blood thinner ..and even if they only take aspirin..they can bleed a lot!. Too many Drs. don't take that into consideration.
They actually have a "Bloodless Hospital " here in St Louis..where they use No Blood for anyone. I wonder how many witnesses are told about this? They cater to JW's.
When my Dad had that pocedure done..they plopped him in bed and left! Well I had to arrange his covers and noticed he was laying in a pool of blood!. Nobody was coming in and checking on him. I pressed the buzzer..no answer Went in the hall and saw no one! I started yelling fo help and finally they all came running!. They applied pressure and thank goodness he stopped. But I wouldn't leave his side untill I was sure he was OK......

I posted an update on hubby's scan.
But I had a comment to make about the Jehvah's Witnesses which I will still have some contact with for a litte while. Hubby has always believed it to be the "Truth" and always will. He has never said anything bad about the religion except one time to a friend of his when he wan't going to the meetings .. The friend asked him what religion he was and he answered "I used to be a JW". He told me the other day that he comited the unforgiven sin. And won't be resurrected! Well I was dumbfounded. I though the unforgiven sin was denying "Jehovah. Not saying you weren't one. Well I couldn't convince him.
Meanwhile he had been attending meetings but now he is too tired. He has only been 2 times since he was diagnosed with cancer. The laison committee knows and so do some other brothers from his congregation. Wel It has been 2 months and not one single witness has called or some by to see how he is! But they are constantly working on the assembly hall right down the street.
He talked to his JW sister and Mom today and his Mom told him to call the laison committee and ASK somone to come and pray with him!..I was sooo Mad!. If they come I will catch them outside and tell them what I think!.
Well he caled them and the brother told him he had to go work at the assembly hall (redecorating)but they would be by sometime! My heart was breaking for him!
He cares more about them than all the friends he had at work that are constantly calling!. His sister told him he has it made because he will go to sleep and not have to see the "Great Tribulation". Then they can see each other in the New system. Well I feel left out!....I fume inside when I hear those things but I want him to have some hope! If he didn't have that he would crack up. I love him too much to argue about religion with him anymore!. I go along with whatever he says for now!
His JW Mom wants to see him so bad and she crys because she can't. She is almost 2 hours away and 80 years old. She can't drive that far. I guess the JW's that drive her up here to go to the assembly hall around the corner can't drive her here to see her son!
Soon they will not be any part of my life..

Thanks so much for asking Brummie!. It means a lot to me!
I gottiredof waitingfo the Dr to call so I called him and yelled! My daughter had a scan done and she found out from her Dr the same day!.(Thank goodness she is OK.)
.Well that made me mad. I think his Dr thought we could wait until Tusday next when he has an appontment Wrong!. Anyway...His lung tumor is shrinking BUT..he went on to say ..the liver tumors have multiplied and are blocking the ducts now!. He doesn't want to use any more chemo. He has NO options left. If they used Chemo..it could kill him now!. As it is I think it is growing faster than they originally thought. . At first he had 9 months to a year. Now the Dr. acts like it could be soon. We still have an appointment on Tuesday . I guess to see how to handle things...We are both heartbroken. We just retired and thought we would have at least 20 years to play!..He has started a notebook of love letters to me. I have been telling him all the things that he did for me that I appreciate and remember!
We had a date when we were teenagers..it snowed really hard all of a sudden and his car got stuck. We had to walk to my house which was about 4 long blocks away. Well I had flats on and he carried me all the way home! Then he walked to his house which was about 20 minutes away!
One time I had an abcessed tooth and it was on the weekend.t hurt so bad! He rocked me all night to take my mind off it. Then we found a dentist on Sunday that would give me some meds.
When we were younger..we had 3 small children close together. He was the sole breadwinner. He cut his foot and put a big gash in it. I rmember him wrapping it real tight and going to work anyway. He drove a truck and had to be using his foot all day! It was things like that that makes him special!
A lot of time has passed since then and even though he is a JW..I don't regret anything .
I love him more than life.

You never appreciate your health until.....
by zenpunk inhi all - i know i haven't posted here in a very long time and unfortunately the reason why hasn't been good.. life was good throughout the summer, travel, college, excitement.
until one day i was sitting in my first class airline seat (i'm a big-time frequent business flyer) on the way back from kansas city and i noticed a lump under my arm.
i went to the doctor and was told it was nothing and they took it out.

How are you doing? I haven't seen an update on how your tests went.
I see you are still posting so I am assuming you are feeling better?
My daughter is having a a lot of pain on her right side and ALL tests are coming back negative!.It is so frustrating! .
She is getting a test where they go up in you with a lighted tube? later in the week. That's the only thing they haven't done. She had blood tests..scans..and xrays. All negative!..
Driving us both nuts. She is NOT looking forward to that test!

PS......just a opinion on relatives that are JW's that do not speak to ones that leave...It is THEIR choice. They could speak to anyone they want. They just are afraid they willl not get to live in "Paradise". So they are choosing what they believe to be a promise of "Paradise forever" over their children..or other relatves or friends!..
Snoozy...again...this is just my opinion!

Hubby and I watched the show!. I try not to miss any.
The one today about the pedophl raised questions in my mind. At first the man interviewed in prison said that he went after boys. Thn later he said he went after a girl. I really was under the understanding they preferred one or the other!.Tha was a surprise to me.
Also..I believe he mentiond he thought he should be chemically castrated.
What did you think of that?
I don't think sex is the problem. I think it is a lot deeper than that , as Dr Phil was bringing out!

You should limit your compulsions to only fun things! Then you can do them ...Over..and Over....and Over....
